ABSTRACT Prickly pear cultivation has played an important role in the Brazilian livestock farming, being used as forage for animals in the Northeast region, especially during the drying season, because it is an excellent source of water. Thus, the objective of this study was to estimate the crop coefficient and water requirement of prickly pear in the Agreste region of Alagoas state, Brazil. Prickly pear crop evapotranspiration (ETc) was determined using five drainage lysimeters, made of polyethylene with dimensions of 0.35 x 0.40 m (side and depth). Dual crop coefficient for the early-cycle soybean cultivar SoyTech 815 RR AGRIAMBI

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to determine the dual crop coefficient of an early-cycle soybean cultivar for the city of Tangará da Serra, MT, Brazil, using high-precision lysimeters. The method used was the dual crop coefficient (dual Kc) of FAO Bulletin 56, constitued by soil evaporation coefficient (Ke), determined by microlysimeters, and by basal crop coefficient (Kcb), determined by weighing lysimeters. Reference evapotranspiration (ETo) was calculated using the Penman-Monteith equation. Soybean sowing and harvesting were performed in the 2015/16 season with spacing of 0.45 m between rows. The objective of this study was to determine the evapotranspiration and crop coefficient for the cut rose (cv. Carola) cultivated in protected environment and the coefficient of small tank installed inside the greenhouse during the period of one year. Five rows of plants were planted with spacing of 1.20 m between rows and 0.20 m between plants. Each line consisted of five plots with five plants per plot. Plants of the second and fourth rows and of the second and fourth plots were installed in four drainage lysimeters with dimensions of 1.20 x 1.20 x 0.80 m. Growth and yield of sugarcane irrigated with brackish water and leaching fractions AGRIAMBI

ABSTRACT The objective was to evaluate the growth and yield of sugarcane irrigated with brackish water and leaching fractions. A completely randomized experimental design was used, in a 5 x 2 factorial scheme, with four replicates. The treatments consisted of five irrigation water salinity levels (0.5, 2.0, 3.5, 5.0 and 6.5 dS m-1) and two leaching fractions (0 and 0.17), corresponding to 100 and 120% of the crop evapotranspiration. The irrigation management was performed daily. The aim of this study was to evaluate the possible impacts caused in the soil and in the percolate in lysimeters of drainage with application of different rates of swine wastewater (SW) during the cycle of soybean culture and to assess the productivity of it. The experiment was conducted at the Agricultural Engineering Experimental Center of UNIOESTE. The soil was classified as typical Distroferric Red Latosol. Leaching of nitrogen, potassium, calcium and magnesium in a sandy soil cultivated with sugarcane PAB

A lysimeter experiment was carried out with sugarcane aiming to evaluate the leaching of nitrogen derived from either urea (15N) or the soil/sugarcane crop residues. The leaching of K+, Ca2+, and Mg2+ was also evaluated. The experiment was a factorial 2x4. The influencing factors were: firstly, the differential addition of two kinds of sugarcane remains to the soil, simulating conditions of cane- plantation renewal after the cane crop harvest, with and without previous straw removal by burning; secondly, four doses of N: 0, 30, 60, and 90 kg ha-1. Bajo condiciones de invernadero y con base a la concentración de potasio (K+) en la caracterización química de la vinaza, se evaluó el efecto de diferentes dosis (0, 250 y 500 kg ha-1 de K+) sobre el suelo, en columnas de cloruro de polivinilo (pvc), empleando lisímetros de succión a dos profundidades (23 y 46 cm) y muestras al final de la columna (75 cm). Stem heat balance method to estimate transpiration of young orange and mango plants AGRIAMBI

The present study had as its main objective the evaluation of the heat balance method in young orange and mango plants under protected environment. The work was carried out at Embrapa Cassava and Tropical Fruits, Cruz das Almas, BA. Later on, estimates of sap flow were conducted for two mango plants cultivated in pots of 15 and 50 L installed on weighting platforms of 45 and 140 kg; sap flow was determined in three orange plants, two of which were also installed on weighing platforms. The values of sap flow were compared to the transpiration measured by lysimeters at integrated intervals of 1, 2, 4 and 24 h. Quantifying soil evaporation is required on studies of soil water balance and applications aiming to improve water use efficiency by crops. The performance of a microlysimeter (ML) to measure soil evaporation under irrigation and non-irrigation was evaluated. The MLs were constructed using PVC tubes, with dimensions of 100 mm inner diameter, 150 mm depth and 2.5 mm wall thickness. Four MLs were uniformly distributed on the soil surface of two weighing lysimeters conducted under bare soil, previously installed at Iapar, in Londrina, PR, Brazil. On potash tailings piles, evapotranspiration covers are important because they may decrease the leaching of brines generated from precipitation erosion.
